1. Contact

BBall Video ("we", "us") operates a mobile app and this website that index and display basketball highlights. We are the data controller. For any privacy matter, contact geir@otimo.no.

2. What data we process

2.1 Data you provide

• Phone number, used to verify your account. We store it only as a one-way hash, never in readable form.
• Age band (over or under 18) to apply appropriate protections.
• Connected-platform data you authorise: your account ID and links to videos you already published. We request read-only access and never post on your behalf without a separate, explicit action.
• Clip metadata: titles, tags, teams, and links you add to your highlights.

2.2 Data we collect automatically

• Basic app and device data needed to run the service, keep it secure, and show contextual ads.

We do not store your videos. Playback happens through the host platform's own player.

3. Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6)

We process your phone number to perform the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b)) and to keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f)). Advertising is contextual and does not rely on profiling. Where consent is required (for example non-essential cookies or tracking), we rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Processors and sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us operate — for example phone-verification (Firebase / Google) and hosting providers — under data-processing agreements. We do not sell personal data. When you connect an account or watch an embedded clip, the host platform (such as YouTube, TikTok or Instagram) processes data under its own privacy policy.

5. Transfers outside the EEA

Where a processor operates outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and prefer EEA data locations where possible.

6. Retention

We keep account data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your data — including the hashed phone number and your clip links — except limited records we must retain to meet legal obligations.

7. Children and young people

The minimum age to create an account is 13. We apply privacy-protective defaults for users under 18, and we do not serve profiling-based advertising to any user. A data protection impact assessment covering minors has been carried out. Parents or guardians may contact us to exercise a child's rights.

8. Your rights

You may access, correct, delete or export your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app. To exercise other rights, contact geir@otimo.no. You may also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).

9. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including hashing of phone numbers, encryption of access tokens, and least-privilege access to our systems.

10. Cookies

The app and site use only what is necessary to function, plus — with your consent — measurement for contextual advertising. You can manage consent at any time.

11. Changes

We will update this policy as the service develops and will note the date of the latest change above.
